Hello Wonders
I read your post, but just to make things clearer can you give me some examples on what males can do but females cannot, and other examples on what some females can do while other cannot.
By the way the email address shown is not a real one, so if anyone likes to comment on what I wrote please leave your comments here.
Thank you a lot

said:Hi Justice,
first of all thank u for dropping by here.
There are a lot of things actually, in our communities males can do almost anything and get away with it, but females are the one who get the stigmata for everything. like staying out late, smoking, having friends from the opposite gender or if having an intimate relationship. (not that i suffer any of this, i'm just giving examples). what really annoys me for example the rights that females still don't have. a mother can't pass on her nationality to her kids. in some countries she cannot travel on her own, females are judged to be less smart than males, and a lot more.
what is happening in our community is that some individuals and some families are starting to realize this, so they are changing. but on the other hand a lot are still looking at females the same way. So there's no consistency which makes it hard on both parties. thus explaining my point when i said:"Why is ok for a female to do something and for another it is not?"
i hope i make sence.. :)

Hello Wonders... How r u??
Ok I agree with you that females in jordan cant do whatever they want; there are lots of boundaries around them. But I dont like the way you think abou it.
My point is that before you start asking for those rights you have to ask for more important rights that are forebidden from females, such as:
1. The right of education: many girls reach the sixth grade and their fathers just take them out of the school and start looking for someone to marry them.
2. The right of the woman to become a pilot or a judge.
Many countries dont give right to the woman to work in these two fields despite the fact that they are mentally capable of doing that.
3. In the parliament the women are given a quota, which means that there are fixed number of females that can be members of the parliament. I think this is an insult for the females, this quota is actually putting boundaries around females, while some females are happy with them!!
4. So many females live under threatening and physical abuse from their husbands and fathers and sometimes brothers, there should be official committies responsible to conserve this right of decent living.
There are too many rights the females dont have in Jordan and you should ask for before looking at those rights like going out late and smoking. I know those rights are really important and you use them everyday but you will never get them if you dont get the more basic rights like the ones that I have just mentioned.
For me I have an explanation why is this happening with females in Jordan but I prefere not to talk about it. Im my opinion that this problem will some how fade in the comming 15 years but it will never end completely.

said:The points you mentioned justice are true.. add to that the arabic female cannot pass on her nationality to her kids.
also not forgetting that in some countries adult females still need permission from their so called guardian to do small things, such as driving!
I know all of that, the things i had in mind when i wroted the above was things on a more personal level.. although everything is personal, but i hope you know what i mean.
